scenes from the road

I spent a week in May on my first roadtrip ever. Well, my first real one - the kind where you drive hours every day, covering thousands of miles in just a week, bunking in hotels in random towns while seeing the sights along the way. My dear sister-in-law Emily was kind enough to let me join a leg of her huge loop around the United States, and it was amazing.

Some favorite pictures....

Antelope Island State Park

Salt Lake City

Bryce Canyon National Park

Arizona & Grand Canyon National Park

Of the whole trip I think I was most impressed with the state of Utah. I had no idea how beautiful it was, and I LOVED Salt Lake City and Bryce Canyon. Downtown SLC is lovely, the shopping is great, the hiking is probably amazing, and then... when you need something to wow your retinas... just head to Bryce Canyon and drink in those amazing colors. Incredible.
